曼利·P·霍尔

曼利·帕尔默·霍尔（英语：Manly Palmer Hall，1901年3月18日—1990年8月29日），是加拿大历史学家，也是神秘主义者、圣哲、秘教主义者、占星家、作家，在他长达70年的职业生涯中，他举办了数千场讲座，出版了150多本书，代表作《历代秘教》（The Secret Teachings Of All Ages）和《共济会丢失的钥匙》（The Lost Keys Of Freemasonry）。

生平

曼利出生于加拿大安大略省彼得伯勒。父亲威廉·塞缪尔·霍尔是一位牙医和联邦政治家，母亲则是脊椎按摩师，同时也是玫瑰十字会团契的成员。据传霍尔自幼从未见过亲生父亲，从小就由外祖母抚养长大，少时送去美国念书，随后在1919年与定居于加利福尼亚州洛杉矶圣莫尼卡的母亲同居。25岁开始纂写《历代秘教》（The Secret Teachings Of All Ages），费时6年。

1928年，霍尔因善于诠释古代著作并担任讲师而闻名，深受各界尊重。同年，他出版了其一生中最著名的代表作《历代秘教》（The Secret Teachings of All Ages）。在编纂期间，他透过印刷品与口碑宣传成功募集公共资金以资助出版，并邀请美国艺术家约翰·奥古斯塔斯·纳普担任绘者，为该书创作了大量的全彩插图与黑白图画。

1934年，霍尔在洛杉矶创立了哲学研究会（PRS）。在该研究会建筑物的后院中，至今仍立有一块铜匾，其上刻着“献给各个时期的真理探索者”。

霍尔也是“培根论者”的坚定支持者，主张弗兰西斯·培根爵士才是莎士比亚剧作的真正作者。

1973年，在哲学研究会举行的一场仪式中，霍尔被正式授予苏格兰共济会第33级会员（最高荣誉成员）的资格。
